The screed may be left as finished, or troweled to produce a smooth surface on which to lay the specified flooring or finish.


Screeding is leveling and smoothing the top layer of a material that is poured, such as concrete, so the material is the same height as the forms, or guides, that surround it.

Traditional screed drying times vary according to the weather conditions, depth and manufacturers  admixtures used.

Heated floors


When underfloor heating is installed, perimeter wall insulation and floor insulation panels with a fitted moisture barrier are installed on the floor slab and the underfloor pipework secured to the panels. This is then covered with the final screed layer.
